One Place is all about supporting My Place.
As Origins began to grow we multiplied our My Place groups to maintain the type of intimate experience the Apostles enjoyed with the origin of the church.
One Place was created to provide stability and continuity through message preparation, online communication, leadership development, and event management. It’s a framework for connection, challenge, and communication. One Place will grow as the needs of My Place groups increase.
One Place Merge
Another unique feature of One Place is the opportunity for all My Place groups to “Merge” for an event that focuses on unity and fellowship. These events may be orchestrated around special music, kicking off a new message series, a service project, or a holiday. When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. (Acts 2:1)
One Place Connection Event
Connection Events are semi-annual or quarterly events that maximize the advantage of the One Place network by pooling resources to stage an extensive worship event. Special music, guest speakers, pastors, and missionaries may provide worship services and seminars for the Origins family. These events are designed to be good introductory experiences for people that have been interested in Origins.
One Place Serve
This label will indicate a missions opportunity for all My Place groups. While each My Place group will undoubtedly serve those in need within their circle of influence, there will be times when all of us are needed to accomplish a missions project. These opportunities also give those with the gifts of service and administration a perfect place to serve the network.
Origins Online
www.originsnola.org – Our web presence is a valuable source of information and interaction. It can serve as a great way to introduce people who are interested in a My Place group to the bigger Origins picture. A description of One Place, My Place, and His Place are easily navigated within the site. Each week the One Place Message Outline is posted on the blog and available for comments from any partner or My Place leader. Links to the blogs of Origins partners, and blogs of notable authors on simple and organic church are featured. There are also links to the Origins Facebook group and Twitter feed.
